Todays Lesson - 3D

In todays lesson we had to create a 3D image from an image that we already had taken from yesterdays task. After opening our image up into photoshop, we had to then duplicate our layer. Then we went on 'image' 'adjustments and then to levels. After that we change the channel to 'red' and change the output levels to 0. By doing this it gave our image a blue tinge (then pressed okay). We repeated the same thing again on the same image but changed the channel to green, and the output level to 0 and we did this again on the coluor blue. Once we had done this we had to move the top layer down a bit and to the right, also we had to change it to screen and then this gave us our 3D effect on the image.
A different way to do this is to go out and take a photograph with your right eye, and then again in the same stop with your left eye, and use both of them image as layers instead of the same image. We would still use the same procedure to make the image 3D.

My 3D Image

These are the steps that we had to do to make our own 3D image on Photoshop using an image that we had already created.

3D Photographs

This is the camera that was made to create 3D images. Also the glasses below are the only ones that will show the 3D effect when looking through them at the image.

3D Photographs

These images are all in 3D. Lars Barndt Stisen made this 3D camera to photograph different 3D images. He made the camera using components to produce in the DDR between 1968 and 1988 which gives the camera a historical relation to the scene.
3D can refer to three dimensional space, stereoscopy any technique capable of recording three-dimensional visual information or creating the illusion of depth in an image.
However i dont think these image are very appealing, the only thing that i like about them is the 3D effect. If they were normal images i would think that they were boring.

Ideas.

Below are some ideas that i could choose to use to re-make into my own image.
I think that i am going to to a portrait image because i like the idea of focusing on the head and shoulders.

Manipulations

These are the screen grabs to show each step of getting a different blur around the image. By fathering each image it makes them look like they arnt so cut and paste. They look better lighter and edited more as previewed above. We used the elliptical marquee tool to edit our images.

Digitally Manipulated Images

All of these images have been digitally manipulated and were form of the internet when asked to collect 5 images that had been manipulated.

This photograph has been heavy manipulated. It looks like it has been taken in a studio and light drawings have been added to it to make it more effective.

This image looks like it has been manipulated on photoshop, the background colour has been change and that other images have been added into this image and 'ovelayed' to give it a nice effect.

This image looks like it has been manipulated on photoshop and has got more images to make it more effective to the viewer. Also it looks like they have exposed the image to make it stand out and also pulled the contrast up to give it a nice looking effect as a result.

This image looks like it has got different images put together and manipulated very well. However it also looks like it has been taken like that but the colours have been edited to stand out more, also the brightness and contrast also looks like it has been pulled up so that in the end it gives and overall nice effect.

This image looks like it has been 'overlayed' by another image to make it look eye-catching. Also it looks like the 'white balance' on the camera was on the 'tungsten light' effect so that it give a blue tinge to the photograph.

Introduction - Part 2

For part 2 of this assignment we have been given 6 week to complete it. We have been asked to create a series of Photoshop workshop, research into historical image manipulation and to re-produce at least one photograph of a famous photograph of our own choice. We can choose what we do but we have to be creative. By the end of this assignment we will be able to understand how image manipulation techniques are used in the work of others; be able to digitise source materials; be able to originate work using image manipulation hardware and software and be able to present our own design. The challenge will be to make the photograph i re-produce look like the original photograph.
